This place lived up to the hype and then some! I got the sampler which included a bit of pork, Ribs, brisket, chicken and two sides. Holy Hell it was so good. The brisket was most certainly the standout but everything was good. I really liked the outdoor seating and the general vibes of the place.
Ah the unexpected, but simple joys of life. We love to eat out, the wife and I, but are often disappointed. Too expensive, just average, if not pedestrian food, and service that isn't up to par. Jessie's is a refreshing change of pace. Here, you have options, dine indoors, or outdoors, weather permitting, or take out. Welcome to smoked meat heaven. It is an immaculate preparation of meats, slow smoked, and I mean slooooooow smoked. So much so, there is an abundance of smoky goodness in every bite. This also lends to some of the most deliciously tender meats you'll ever stab with your fork, and place in your drooling mouth. From ribs, to brisket, to chicken and pulled pork, it's all there waiting for you, patiently basting in their juices. Choose your meat, depending on your taste, or choose the sampler, and get a little bit of everything, it's world tour of meat laden decadence. Pro-tip, choose your sauces wisely, as they serve as the perfect compliment to these virgin meats, and they are also a necessary complimentray component. You see the meats are prepared so well, so tender, that they preserve solely the goodness of the meats, pure and unadulterated, so salt it, pepper it, sauce it (there are four distinct sauces available to render you unconscious), and the find the heaven that awaits. It's a delicious game of flavor, and it's always your move. The sides are decent, but lack a little conviction, they are middle of the road good, solid. The cornbread is unique, and very good, dense but not too wet. Beverages are available, from local craft favorites, to homemade Birch Beer, tasty, tasty. The atmosphere is modern decor with a country flare, woods, vintage tins, subdued lighting. The counter staff is friendly, and eager to help. Once your order is placed, goodness awaits, usually 10 minutes or less. Once your number is called, feast your eyes on the holy grail of gastronomy. Take it to your table, say a blessing if you're so inclined, then grab a fork and dig in. Let the taste, and all the wonderful food sensations wash over you. This my friends, is what you've been waiting for.
Besides the food and atmosphere being a perfect 10, the staff was a standout. Even with the line wrapping around the building, they were all so pleasant and kept the line moving at a steady pace. It was a true pleasure to see them working with such big smiles. I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was incredible—tender, flavorful, and piled high. I'm excited to come back and try the sampler next time!
Came here today for the first time. And I have to say the food is pretty good. I will say the pulled pork sandwich is phenomenal. I absolutely love the roll that it was on and the consistency & flavor of the pork was delicious. The brisket was absolutely fall apart however I was a little surprised at the portion that you received for almost $20. It’s not that I’m complaining it’s that when I open the box was a little bit surprised & underwhelmed, but then I opened the box for the chicken and I was overwhelmed because the chicken was absolutely massive. The brisket was delicious. Very flavorful. I got two different types of the sauce to try and they were both very good. The mac & cheese was one of the absolute shining stars. The mac & cheese was delicious and the cornbread was also phenomenal. The Mexican Street corn looked super flavorful was sadly a little bit on the bland side and the coleslaw was just not great at all. The staff here truly made this a phenomenal experience. I am nitpicking a little bit because barbecue is something I take pride in. But I would 100% come back to this place. Next time I’m gonna get a brisket sandwich without a doubt!
I’ve been coming to this place recently after a coworker introduced me to it. Right away, as you walk up, you can see their grills and smell the delicious aroma of meat cooking. No matter who is at the register, they always have a great attitude and are super friendly to every customer. On my first visit, I ordered the loaded fries, and they were amazing. The cheese sauce was smooth and flavorful, the pork was juicy, and the self-serve barbecue (available in multiple flavors) was fresh and tasty. There were a few pieces of fat mixed in, which is expected with pork, so I didn’t mind. The second time, I tried the pulled pork sandwich. Once again, the portion was generous, but this time, there were noticeably more fatty pieces. While I understand that some fat is inevitable, a little more trimming would improve the texture. The bread they use is a bit dry in my opinion, but the barbecue sauce helps balance it out. One suggestion I have is to slightly increase the portion sizes of their sides since they’re served in small dipping cups. The baked beans are really enjoyable and taste homemade, but the mac and cheese was underwhelming—not much flavor and just a simple white mac. On my third visit, I ordered a quart of pulled pork (which comes with free barbecue sauce and a tall container of meat) to make loaded fries at home, and they turned out great thanks to them. Overall, I definitely recommend this place to anyone who enjoys good barbecue!
Wife had a pull pork sandwich and I had a brisket sandwich. Both sandwiches were okay (not hot) but didn’t seem to be anything special. Rolls were very good. French fries and sweet potato fries were very good. The staff were very friendly and polite. Food came out fast. Restaurant was very clean. If I was in the area I would probably try it one more time. I don’t think I would make a special trip to go there.
Jesse's Barbecue & Local Market is a family owned and operated BBQ place. They sell slow-smoked fresh BBQ every day, year-round in outdoor, wood-fired smokers. They offer a variety of delicious made-from-scratch sides, salads, sandwiches and desserts. I love their ribs, and their brisket burnt ends are fantastic (pictured below).
